Richland Middle School Presents Check to G.R.A.C.E.

The Richland Middle School Student Council recently presented a check to Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination (G.R.A.C.E.). The money was from a fundraiser completed in November, in observance of Prostate Cancer Awareness month at the Middle School. Each Friday the council had a special event the students could participate in for a one dollar donation. The events included mustache day, hat day, tie and crazy socks day, game day, and pajama day. A little extra incentive was added to the event when Mr. Martin, the physical education teacher, agreed to shave his legs if the students raised $200, and Principle Meyer elected to join him if $500 was raised. At the end of the month, the students raised $315 and Mr. Martin came to school in shorts showing off his freshly shaven legs. The co-advisors for the Student Council are Laura Way and Annie Ewing.

Annual Meeting

All teams are encouraged to have at least one representative present to accept the teams plaque or plate. Individuals who had their luminaries saved, but have not been able to pick them up will have the chance at the annual meeting Thursday night to pick them up.
